*Kawaru gets out of bed and goes and takes a shower. While he’s in the shower he remembers the events of yesterday and about how he and Archer probably wouldn’t be able to win the war now*
Kawaru: Dammit!
*Kawaru slams his fist against the wall*
Kawaru: It’s my fault if I had better gauged the situation, or even if I simply hadn’t let my pride get the better of me we would have been fine.
*Kawaru takes a deep breath*
Kawaru: Well either way I can’t change what’s already happened, I suppose I should just relax today there’ll be hell to pay if I make Aylia mad, and maybe she can help me come up with an idea.
*Kawaru gets out the shower, dries off, and dresses in casual clothing*
Kawaru: I guess I should make breakfast for those two.
*Kawaru walks down stairs and sees Aylia shoes on and ready to go he looks at her surprised*
Kawaru: Shouldn’t we eat breakfast first?
Aylia: No, you and I are going to go out for breakfast.
Kawaru: It seems kinda cruel to make Archer cook doesn’t it?
*Saber walks in wearing casual cloths and an apron. Kawaru looks over and can’t help but stare in shock mouth a gape*
Saber: What?
Kawaru: I’ve never seen you without your armor on.
Saber: When there is a possibility of a fight I always remain armed since in a battle of life and death even the few seconds I would waste arming myself could mean the difference between a win and a loss.
Kawaru: I had figured you for the type who was more comfortable in armor.
Saber: No matter what most people say there are few who are more comfortable wearing armor than not, the stuff is heavy.
*Kawaru can’t help but laugh at this remark thinking it odd to hear Saber complain about anything let alone the weight of his armor*
Saber: Anyways you two should get going I’ll take care of Archer don’t worry.
*Saber looks at Aylia as if getting ready to say something*
Aylia: I know and if we’re attacked summon you with the command spell.
Saber: Yes.
Aylia: Don’t worry we’ll be in populated places.
Saber: But you never know what masters are thinking some may even attack in public places.
Kawaru: We’ll be careful.
*Saber nods then turns away and walks into the kitchen*
Kawaru: So are you ready?
Aylia: Yeah, so, where should we go?
Kawaru: Well I’m kinda hungry. There is a cafEin the mall area we can get breakfast there.
*Kawaru opens the door and leaves, Aylia follows along after him*
Aylia: So what’s planned for today?
*Kawaru gives her a look of surprise*
Kawaru: Planned? I didn’t really come up with one do you normally come up with a plan when you’re hanging out with people.
*Aylia makes an exaggerated sigh and shrugs*
Aylia: You must really have lived a sheltered life.
Kawaru: Hey! What do you mean by that?
Aylia: When a guy and a girl are together it’s the guy’s responsibility to lead.
Kawaru: But isn’t that only when they’re dating?
*Aylia suddenly gets and embarrassed look on her face and looks away*
Aylia: No, normally the guy is supposed to lead.
*Kawaru looks at her with a smile and sighs*
Kawaru: Fine, I’ll come up with something while we eat.
Aylia: Good, because if my one day off from the war is boring I’m holding you responsible for it.
Kawaru: Don’t worry everything will work out.
Aylia: We’ll see.
*They reach the cafEand sit down Aylia orders a light breakfast and Kawaru orders the same*
Aylia: So, what are you going to do about Archer?
Kawaru: To be honest I’m not sure, but I know her bow was a high level construct, maybe I can make her a new one.
Aylia: It wouldn’t matter.
Kawaru: What why not?
Aylia: Because even if you made her a bow it would still be different from the first and even with your mana levels it would take you well over a month to create a weapon of that strength.
Kawaru: Yeah, you’re right but stillE
Aylia: Archer didn’t tell you about the Oracle Knife right?
Kawaru: No she didn’t.
Aylia: Well then it’s very possible she still has another noble phantasm which you don’t know about it would be better for you not to try something rash.
Kawaru: Yeah you’re right.
*Suddenly Aylia’s expression changes and she smiles*
Aylia: Okay, now we’ve amended that worry we should enjoy today.
Kawaru: Yeah you’re right, after all it’s not everyday I get to hang out with a pretty girl like you.
*Aylia’s cheeks redden a bit and a grin crosses Kawaru’s face*
Aylia: Archer would probably smack you if she heard that.
Kawaru: Probably, so do me a favor and don’t tell her.
Aylia: That will all depend on how today goes.
Kawaru: So now you’re blackmailing me?
Aylia: Maybe.
*They both laugh as their food is delivered and they begin eating*
~~~~~
*Saber and Archer are sitting together in the living room*
Archer: Saber, why are you still working with us? The partnership became unbeneficial the moment I used my broken phantasm.
Saber: Aylia is the one who decides that I am merely her sword.
Archer: Really? Then why haven’t you protested at all?
Saber: Because my master is happier here, I have no wish for the grail to grant, the reason I’m participating in this war is to fulfill an agreement I had with one of Aylia’s ancestors my only purpose it to protect my master not to win the war, and that protection includes her happiness.
*Archer giggles slightly at this*
Archer: You may not seem like it but under that cold exterior there is a noble guardian isn’t there? I can’t help but wonder what made you that way.
Saber: The past has been done there is no need to revisit it.
Archer: Oh?
*Archer grins mischievously then walks over and looks into his eyes*
Archer: Does the mighty Black Angel have some secrets hidden even from the myths?
Saber: I said drop it.
*She notices that he seems uncomfortable with her close proximity and moves in a little closer*
Saber: Please back away a little.
*As Saber says this he instinctively leans back trying to create some distance*
Archer: Saber, are you okay?
Saber: Of course I am. What would make you think otherwise?
Archer: The fact that your face is redder than a tomato.
*Saber looks away and sees his face in a mirror it was a little red but not nearly as much as she had implied*
Saber: You’re enjoying this aren’t you?
Archer: Maybe a little. It’s kinda funny to see someone so calm and collected so uncomfortable.
*Saber frowns at this a bit*
Saber: Archer, did you really only come to protect Kawaru?
Archer: Of course, are you saying I’m a liar?
Saber: No, I just find it odd, but even though you’re protecting him there’s something different about your interactions then when I first met you two.
*Archer backs away and looks out the window*
Archer: What do you mean?
Saber: When I first saw you fight it looked as if you two were very in synch, but after four days you two seem more distant rather than close.
*A forlorn smile crosses Archer’s lips*
Archer: He’s different than I expected him to be. Not in a bad way but when we first met he seemed so familiar but after I spent the day with him I realized just how much of a stranger he is.
Saber: Fate deals strange hands indeed.
~~~~~~
*Aylia and Kawaru had finished eating and left the cafE
Aylia: So what are we going to do now?
Kawaru: Lets see here, how about the zoo?
*Aylia looks at him and blinks several times then bursts out into laughter. Turns a little red embarrassed*
Kawaru: What?
Aylia: You spent all that time thinking and you came up with the zoo?
Kawaru: If you’re so smart why don’t you choose where we go.
*Aylia takes his hand and begins to lead him in the direction of the zoo still laughing. Kawaru turns slightly red then follows her lead*
Aylia: Because you’re the one paying remember?
Kawaru: I see.
*Kawaru sighs defeated, he pays for the tickets and they wander around for a while looking at the animals*
Kawaru: So is this more fun than you expected?
Aylia: No, I had at least some hopes you would be at least a decent escort.
*Kawaru grins*
Kawaru: Keep talking like that and I may start to believe this is a date.
Aylia: It’d still only be you.
*The two of them wander the zoo for several hours*
Kawaru: Hey Aylia.
Aylia: What?
Kawaru: Why are you and Saber still working with Archer and I?
*Aylia looks away*
Aylia: Because we’re partners and even if Archer can’t use her bow she’s still useful.
Kawaru: So that’s it huh?
Aylia: Of course.
Kawaru: So if I stop being useful I suppose you’ll just abandon the partnership.
*Aylia suddenly looks him straight in the eye*
Aylia: Do you really think I see you two as expendables.
Kawaru: From how you talk about us I’d say that wouldn’t be to far off
*Aylia looks down at the ground with a hurt expression*
Kawaru: Well either way lets get going we should get back before dinner and there’s still one place I wanna go.
Aylia: Huh? Okay.
*Kawaru takes her hand and begins to lead her somewhere*
Kawaru: Well all in all I’d say I didn’t do to badly.
*Aylia looks at him with a slightly curious expression*
Aylia: Kawaru how many girls have you actually dated?
Kawaru: None, I haven’t been very close with any girl since Sako and I were separated as kids.
*Suddenly Aylia lets go of his hand and he turns around and looks at her*
Aylia: Sako?
Kawaru: Yeah she was my childhood friend we promised that we would remain friends. I’m going to start looking for her after the war is over.
Aylia: Really?
*Aylia’s expression had become anxious, but Kawaru didn’t seem to pick up on it*
Kawaru: Yeah, I get the feeling that we’ll see each other again when this is all over.
Aylia: So is she the reason that you’ve never shown an interest in other girls before?
*Kawaru thinks for a moment*
Kawaru: I don’t think so, I simply haven’t met any that are my type. Why do you ask?
*Aylia lets out a silent sigh of relief*
Aylia: Because, it would have been pretty sad if you didn’t date girls because of a childhood friend.
Kawaru: Yeah it would be kinda sad, but you know I remembered something a while ago about a promise I made with Sako.
Aylia: What was it?
Kawaru: Well I gave her a crystal hairclip for her birthday, but after that she asked me for one other thing. She asked me to make a promise that if she was in trouble I would come and protect her.
Aylia: It sounds like something kids would do.
Kawaru: Yeah it does, but I agreed and told her that as long as she kept the hair clip if she was ever really in danger I would come and help her.
Aylia: StillE
*She says in a distant tone as she looks out at the people around*
Kawaru: What?
Aylia: I’m sort of envious.
Kawaru: Huh?
Aylia: I’ve never really had a friend as close as you two were.
*Wind blows past the two and Aylia smiles warmly*
Aylia: I think it would be nice to have someone who would make such a promise.
*Kawaru stares at her he realizes that even though he had been talking about Sako that even when the war ended he felt conflicted he did want to search for Sako but at the same time Aylia had in these few short days become important to him.*
Kawaru: How about it then?
Aylia: How about what?
Kawaru: How about I promise you that if you are ever in danger I will come to protect you.
Aylia: What do you mean? That doesn’t make me the least but happy.
*She turns away hiding her red smiling face and Kawaru grins*
Kawaru: I haven’t heard you say no.
*Aylia turn to him*
Aylia: That’s fine, but if you let me down the next time we meet I’ll make you regret it.
Kawaru: Then I guess I’ll just have to make sure I keep it.
*They finally reach the place Kawaru had talked about it was a small hill looking out over the water*
Aylia: Hey Kawaru.
Kawaru: Yeah?
Aylia: I had fun today.
*Aylia turns around and with the beautiful scenery behind her Kawaru merely stares awestruck by the majestic figure in front of him*
: Well, Aylia I didn’t think I’d ever see you partner with another master.
*Aylia and Kawaru turn to see Sakaki standing behind them*
Aylia: What I do is none of your business Sakaki.
Sakaki: I am merely showing my surprise.
Aylia: What do you want?
Sakaki: I merely want to know, do you still intend to destroy the grail if you win?
Aylia: Yes.
*Sakaki makes an exaggerated shrug and sighs*
Sakaki: She has a shot at an object that can grant wishes and she pursues it only desiring to prevent its use, what a backwards child.
*Kawaru glares at Sakaki*
Kawaru: Why have you come here?
Sakaki: I only came to warn you that Lancer is on the move again and that you’d best be careful on your way home.
Kawaru: We should probably hurry. The sun is starting to set.
Sakaki: Well you two went sight seeing in such a distant place you’ve forgotten the war is still on, not that I can entirely blame you. After all I did bring a friend of mine here as well. Isn’t that right Serena?
*Serena steps out from behind Sakaki*
Serena: Lancer, don’t let them escape this time.
Lancer: Yes master!
*An orb of electricity build up in Lancer’s hand*
Kawaru: This is badE
