It is this view from afar that I cherish so greatly. Just to capture one fleeting glimpse of her grace, Her beauty, and the smile that draws me in. A simple expression, no one can ever trace.
So here I stay, looking through the broken window, Striking up the courage to speak to this beauty. But before I can, dawn’s light pierces the sky, And I have lost the moon’s dark sanctuary.
As the moon leaves, so must I, life’s abomination, Take my leave also, a farewell upon my lips. Yet, before I depart, I retrieve a pen from the desk, By which I write my passions upon a scrip.
I hide in the shadows as she awakens from her sleep. Noticing the scrip, she lifts it and begins to read, And a slight smile forms upon her elegant face. The smile that for so long I have fancied.
There she waits, until darkness comes once again But as I appear, she takes a sharp intake of air To which I retreat back into my hiding, Having no doubt of her coming nightmares.
So alone in the shadows am I, just a faint outline. To my surprise, I hear footsteps and a voice after. The sweet sound of her voice brightens me To know that she came after me, just a specter.
