Missing a Part of Myself

[Lunar Knite]

I roam around aimlessly on the streets,
Walking through the uncaring crowds
Wondering, where was my motivation?
My inspiration? My muse shouting so loud?

It appears that I have lost my touch.
The golden touch that could make you cry,
Make you laugh, and everything in-between,
If I were to just give it a simple try.

But gone is that talent, wasted and irretrievable,
Seemingly no way to ever get it back.
Perhaps it was coupled with something else,
For it is not the only thing that I now lack.

Thinking on it, it now makes some sense.
I lost everything when I had lost you,
Thought it would be fine, that I could live on.
I was fooling myself; I could never make do.

With you, my touch left, my inspiration gone.
So here I am, wandering the lonely streets,
A piece of myself vanished forever,
As without you and it, I cannot be complete.

Nice poem LK, but I have to ask a question. Is it me or is most of your poems have to do with someone being down because they lost someone or something?

Um...yeah. ^_^; Heh heh... Well, a lot of my poems are based off my own feelings and what I'm thinking at the time. Seeing as love is oftentimes the emotion that I'm thinking of at the moment, it comes out in my poems. Though, as the love is usually unrequited or lost, yeah...I had the same experience, so that comes out in my writing also.

Doesn't it? Eh, I feel I've gotten over it. It's just easy to write a poem about it.

It is a good thing getting over it. Not very good to dwell on the past too much. Having your poems based on your experiences is good, because not only have you known about it, but it makes the poem unique in their own ways.
