It has been so long since I’ve seen you,
Though, I don’t think I was prepared
To see your arms around someone else
And a kiss you two had shared.
It troubles my heart to see you now
That you’ve gone on without me,
Without so much as a goodbye,
Or a chance to make my plea.
I did not mean to be so distant,
I didn’t desire to go away,
But so lost in my thoughts was I,
I just could not simply stay.
So I apologize for my absence,
Truly sorry for all the pain,
But one thing is still the same,
I love you, simple and plain.
