Chapter 1- A Lesson to Be Learned
This is really meant for an RP contest, but I decided to form this into a series depicting the adventures of the keyblade wielder, Zerzen, and his nemesis, Demien.
"Damn why aren't the controls working!? Stupid piece of shit, why won't you work!!" The roaring engines of the now burning black gummi ship began to fall apart due to the immense heat and pressure that had accumulated over the past half hour. The pilot had no idea what had caused this abnormal problem. The gummi ship, after all, had been thoroughly inspected by himself and two mechanics before he set out on this short journey. Unfortunately luck had caught up with him, and now the ship and the pilot barreled toward the quiet darkness of The World That Never Was.
As the ship came closer and closer to the surface certain parts of it began to fall off. First it was no more than peeled back paint, but then a booster engine crumpled under immense pressure and now floated in the blackness of space. With that gone the ship had lost some speed, but the upcoming world's gravitational field kicked in, and put the pilot in further danger. At the current speed there was no hope of getting a safe landing. He would have to risk ejection out of the thingypit of the craft if the pilot wanted at least a small chance to survive. "Well it's been good old buddy, but looks like this is your final mission. Goodbye." And with a final farewell to the ship, Zerzen ejected into the air. It looked like he should've ejected a bit sooner as he was only about ten seconds away from hitting the ground. Fortunately his parachute had deployed, and guaranteed him a relatively safe landing.
"Well that was a hell of flight. I should be thankful that I'm alive in the first place, but I can't help wondering where I actually landed." Indeed this was, Zerzen's first visit to The World That Never Was, and it looked as though he had landed near Memory's Skyscraper. The area was a haunting and fairly legendary section of the town where many great and epic battles had been fought. Small craters and cuts on the buildings proved its fame, but, Zerzen was still clueless. Little did he know another battle would take place. A battle of pain and torture.
"I wish I had worn something perhaps a little warmer this place is freezing." For an unknown reason it was chillier than usual. Even, Zerzen's warm jacket couldn't protect him against this. Then he remembered that his wrecked gummi ship was still burning brightly in the sky. That would surely keep him warm in this weather. After all it would seem he would be here for quite awhile longer. Good thing before the crash, Zerzen has sent out the distress signal. Otherwise he would have no other way to get out of this world. Yet, Zerzen could not shake the feeling that he was being watched intently by the eyes of a madman.
"Nothing else seems to be here except darkness. No one should live in a place like this, but I gues..huh?" Zerzen, was puzzled as he could've sworn he saw the glimpse of a black orb to the side of him, but when he turned to look it was gone. Then once again he caught it on the other side, and it dissapeared again. "What is going on he..aghh!" Before the last few letters of his words left his lips the mysterious black orb shot him hard right in the stomach. The immense force sent him flying up and then down onto the hard inky black pavement. The attack had even left a grotesque mark where it hit. Zerzen, had all the breath taken out of him in that one attack. However, the pain was just beginning.
"Mark number sixty-two, Zerzen. Yep, you're the guy. I gotta say I didn't expect you to be phazed from an attack like that, but here you are on your knees. This just means I can torture you awhile longer before the big slice! Hahahahaha!!!"A mysterious sadist now stood in front of, Zerzen. His name was unknown for now, but his intent wasn't. It was obviously known by now that he wanted, him dead, but was there a reason for this? It wasn't too clear, but Zerzen knew that he would have to fight if he was to survive the upcoming onslaught.
Not wasting any time, Zerzen drew the only weapon that he had on him. It was the keyblade which he had nicknamed, Longstrike. The wielder had no idea how he had even gained this weapon it had just..appeared. Still he had nothing else to fight with. "Allright if you want a fight come and get it!" With vigor and hate in his eyes, Zerzen charged at the crazed man, swinging his keyblade wildly. He had almost no idea how to use the unique weapon. His strength was in guns not in swords. The odds were highly against him in this fight. In fact, the man had dodged all of Zerzen's attacks with ease. Nothing was even phazing him. And without even a sound, the madman bashed his head against Zerzen's. Zerzen, was stunned now unable to really move at all. That impact had rattled his head hard, and another wound opened up on his forehead. Warm blood now poured over, Zerzen's face. He was in terrible shock and pain, and it didn't look like the evil man was going to stop.
"You are pathetic. All the other keyblade wielders could've avoided that attack, but I guess you could say they're a bit dead to tell you otherwise. Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!"
For one of the only times in his life, Zerzen was frozen with fear. This man WAS going to KILL him! There was no doubt in his mind. Zerzen could not even lift his keyblade up because of his fear. "Pitiful. You have made even me not want to kill you, but I suppose a farewell present is just as good."And with that, the man zoomed behind, Zerzen, and pulled out his very own keyblade to his side. He proceeded by slicing a deep wound into Zerzen's back. It was a quick and easy motion that seemed to split his back in two. Even parts of the spine could be seen from the wound. By now, Zerzen was crying out in pain and anger. Cursing the man with every ounce of strength left in his body. "You're a failure. You disgrace every other keyblade wielder that has come before you. Rot and decay in this cold air, Zerzen. I will not hesitate to kill you if you come looking for me again." With that said, the lunatic dissapeared from the area leaving the half-dead body of Zerzen on the ground. Perhaps, he should've learned to use his weapon, but he thought nothing of it as he passed out into a coma.
