Impaling the mountainside, icy and unforgiving Trying to overcome the highest of obstacles Freezing within the heavily-downed jacket The formation on my eyelashes of icicles.
Climbing to the peak do I strive for Slowly but surely do I progress Not stopping for the wind, the cold, the pain; There’s no time for a recess.
My breath freezes as soon as it leaves my mouth, Gasping in complete awe at the sight. I have finally reach my destination, the peak, So I leave my mark at this height.
With a flag proclaiming my victory Do I make the fatal mistake. Staying too long without concern, Does the ice begin to break.
As the earth begins to tremble under me, I take my final breath, Stumbling backwards, Falling to a cold, sudden death.
