I thought when two people loved eachother
That meant that everything was happily ever after
That the selfishness of humanity would not be a factor
That apathy would not even matter

Yet I slowly see as the story swings along
Misery loves happy endings, as much as it loves my song
That nothing is eternal, everything can go wrong
And just because you're smiling now doesn't mean you will for long

Forgive me if my bitterness is starting to annoy you
As it grows along and long I'm starting to enjoy it too
My sanity runs down me it continues to fall through
My mind is starting collapse thinking of you two

SUN COMES UP

I see the sun as it goes down
And I wonder why it keeps coming up
To another day of everything the same
Nothing has changed since it's gone down

I see the mailman come alone
Giving mail to those who need it
Yet he's alone, he has no friends
Why he gives mail I don't know

The grass does grow
Until winter comes
And then it dies
And suffocates under snow

A worm does dry
From the sun's warmth
No one helps him
They let him fry

I continue to smile
And hide behind
The great costume
That I've devised

The sun goes down
It's had enough
