Jack: So Berserker it’s time to go wild!
Berserker: GRAHHHHH!
Reiori: Assassin let’s go! We have no reason to fight him.
Assassin: Well the only way out is the front gate so we can’t really run.
*Suddenly a steel gate rises from the ground blocking the exit*
Reiori: This whole time Berserker’s master was believed to only be talented in enhancement magic.
Jack: No, my attribute is metal. Now Berserker, eat Assassin alive. I command you to GO MAD!
*Berserker’s class ability activates as Jack uses a command spell. Berserker is stripped of both reason and sanity and charges like a gale force hurricane at Assassin*
Assassin: What?!
*Berserker claws at Assassin who is narrowly avoiding each attack by a paper thin margin. Reiori clenches her fists as she watches the spectacle. Assassin’s wounds from the battle with Saber still hadn’t healed there was no way that he would be able to defeat this mad warrior*
Reiori: Spirit of the flame hear my call, heed my command, and scorch my enemy to a cinder! Vulcan!
*Vulcan the spirit of fire is sent speeding towards Jack. Who crosses his arms in front of him*
Jack: Metal Doll! Elemental Metal!
*Suddenly Jack’s skin takes on a metallic color. His skin then glows now resistant to elemental magic. In truth Jack was Berserker’s ideal master. While Jack lacked any offensive ability his specialization in defensive magic made it so that he could last against the other magi even if Berserker couldn’t protect him*
Jack: The final battle of this war will be Kawaru against myself that was our promise between men. I’m not going to be the one to go back on it!
*The flames envelope Jack but instead of melting his metallic skin shines even brighter and the flames seem to repel away from his body*
Jack: Huh? At this level you may have been the most gifted competitor in destruction magic. To bad it won’t work on me
Reiori: Assassin! No choice, don’t hold anything back!
*Assassin disappears from sight but since Berserker was a feral warrior with an acute sense of smell he still managed to defend from Assassins barrage of strikes. To an observer the exchange would appear even or possibly even in Assassins favor but this was far from the truth. Assassin couldn’t stop attacking for even a moment. The slightest pause, the slightest hesitation, the smallest opening against this monster any would mean instant death*
Reiori: …
*Assassin’s twin lances continue to clash with Berserker’s steel claws. The metallic sounds produce a chorus of strikes as sparks spring from between the two. Jack smiles as Reiori could only watch her servant get worn down. After all if Servants have strengths and weaknesses Berserker is the ideal servant to combat against Assassin. In truth this match was over before it had begun*
Assassin: Don’t count me out so quickly.
*Assassin suddenly appears directly in front of Reiori*
Assassin: Twin Dragons!
*Assassins noble phantasm is launched at Jack, Berserker instantly moves in between the two. The winds of the two spears amplify each other and soon the Noble phantasm has increased in strength to match even an A rank. Assassin watches with a grin on his face*
Assassin: Now die!
Jack: Berserker!
*Suddenly Berserkers body becomes reflective his stone like muscles take on a mirror like appearance and he stares straight forward at the attack*
Berserker: GRAWWWWW!
Jack: Mirror of the Moon Goddess!
*A reflection of the lances can be seen on Berserkers body and when the lances make contact with his body they seem to be absorbed into the mirror world while the reflections emerge from his body and return to their original user. The two spears pierce and shred Assassin’s body as he glares at the monster before him*
Assassin: The hero of the Lunar Lei, I should have known.
*Assassin murmers his final words as he collapses to the ground. His body fades away as it makes contact with the cold dirt*
Assassin: Sorry Rei.
*But Assassin’s words before the battle rang true only one more servant till the grail materialized and before the three was a black orb which seemed to plague all that it touched*
Jack: Is that…
Reiori: …the holy grail?
*The Jack walks over to Reiori and lifts her up by the neck*
Jack: Grail I offer you a magus as your container, now hold until the war of selections is complete.
*Reiori is raised into the air in a similar fashion to the way Aylia had been when she was being held prisoner by Sakaki, but unlike at that time the blackened plague continues to spread seeking more*
Jack: Wha…What’s going on!
*Berserker lets out a roar as the disease makes contact with it. It’s skin is quickly tinted in black and it’s eyes glow red*
Jack: No Berserker!
*However, there is not time for Jack either, several diseased tentacles shot out from the orb and infect Jack who is affected in a similar fashion. The three of them are drawn into the inner sanctuary*
Jack: The final fight of this war is gonna be between you and me, and I don’t want any excuses when you lose
Jack: GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
~Kawaru’s home~
*Kawaru sits up in bed in a cold sweat*
Kawaru: Jack!
Saber: What’s wrong!?
*Kawaru’s shout had alerted Saber who appeared before him combat ready*
Kawaru: I thought I heard Jack screaming.
*Sako enters the room with a concerned look on her face*
Sako: Kawaru, there is a huge accumulation of magical energy at Ryudo Temple, I think the grail is starting to materialize.
Kawaru: If that’s true it means that either Assassin or Berserker have been defeated.
Saber: The loser was probably Assassin.
Kawaru: How can you be so sure?
Saber: The wounds I gave Assassin aren’t something that are healed quickly. And other than that Berserker is the ideal Servant to fight against Assassin with. I’d say it’s very unlikely that Berserker lost.
*Kawaru nods agreeing with Saber’s logic*
Kawaru: Yeah, that more or less makes sense.
*Kawaru gets out of bed*
Kawaru: If it’s Jack he’ll be expecting me tonight. I’d better get ready.
*Aylia enters wearing normal clothing she sets a tray of food down next to Kawaru then begins to inspect his body where his wounds had been*
Aylia: So you’re really going to fight Jack?
Kawaru: Yes, I have to. The Tosaka and the Matou are both the ruling magi of this area we’re destined to conflict to begin with. If I’m going to battle Jack I’ve got something I need to go do.
*After Aylia finishes inspecting him she nods her head signally that he is fine. He then slides his feet over the bed and looks around at everyone*
Kawaru: Umm, it’s not that I’m not flattered and all but do you guys mind leaving the room while I change?
*Both Sako and Aylia’s cheeks turn a deep shade of scarlet as they hurry out of the room. Saber begins to walk out but as he does he stops at the doorway*
Saber: It is never easy to fight against a friend but you can’t let that hinder your judgment.
*Upon saying this to his master, Saber walks away*
Kawaru: Thank you Saber, but I’m already prepared.
*Kawaru gets up and does his standard morning routine, then walks downstairs, Sako was making food*
Kazuto: Hey Kawaru, if you want you can take Flamberg into battle it’ll raise your chances of victory.
Kawaru: Sorry Kazuto, no I can’t use Flamberg.
Kazuto: Huh? Why not?
Kawaru: Flamberg isn’t my sword it’s yours this is a fight between Jack and I only things that our servants and we possess will be allowed in this battle.
*Kawaru eats his food*
Sako: So you two are going to finally finish this, Jack must feel it’s finally his chance to surpass you.
Kawaru: Yeah.
Kazuto: What do you mean?
Sako: When we were younger Jack and Kawaru were always competing in everything. Well actually it’d be more appropriate to say Jack competed against Kawaru.
Kazuto: Why?
Kawaru: I ALWAYS won.
*Sako giggles a little*
Sako: Now now, no need to lie Jack won every once in a while but never when there was something at stake.
Kazuto: I see, so that’s why Jack has so much fighting spirit when it comes to competing against Kawaru. I had thought he wasn’t giving it his all in the battle against me but I didn’t think that was the reason. Seems kinda odd.
Kawaru: Well you loved to test yourself against servants, they are a similar idea.
Kazuto: I guess, I fought Berserker even though doing so meant I broke my promise with Caster.
Sako: Huh? Kazuto, you were a master?
Kazuto: Yeah, I was caster’s master we were beaten early in the war by Lancer covering for Aylia and Kawaru’s escape.
Sako: Why?
Kazuto: I didn’t like the way Lancer was operating.
*Suddenly Kawaru stopped chewing his food his eyes swell up and his cheeks turn bright red*
Kazuto: Kawaru? What’s wrong?
Kawaru: Sako, what did you put in my food?!
Sako: Just a jalapeno pepper and some Tabasco.
Kawaru: You know I can’t handle spicy food!
Sako: Yeah, but you were acting so weird I felt I should do something to snap you out of your stupor.
Kawaru: Did it have to be so extreme?!
Sako: Yes.
Kawaru: You enjoy teasing me just as much as you used to don’t you?
Sako: Definitely, consider it pay back for breaking my pure maiden heart.
Kawaru: Since when were you a pure maiden?!
*Suddenly Sako walks over and pinches Kawaru’s cheek. With a face like a demon*
Sako: What did you just say?
Kawaru: Nothing.
Sako: That’s what I thought.
Kazuto: It looks like not that most of the weird stuff is over those two are acting like siblings.
Aylia: I think she still hasn’t given up on him.
Kazuto: Actually I forgot I’ve got an announcement.
Kawaru: What’s up?
*Sako nods*
Kazuto: Sako and I are going to start dating once the war is over.
Kawaru: Really? Congrats Sako.
Sako: You didn’t think I was going to more around forever did ya?
Kawaru: Nope, but anyways I need to get going.
*Aylia gets up from the table*
Aylia: I’ll come with you.
Kawaru: Sure.
*Kawaru and Aylia leave the house and begin to walk towards the local park*
Aylia: Remember this is where we first met.
Kawaru: Of course I remember you and Saber gave me a near death experience!
Aylia: Yeah, I almost had you back then, but then you summoned Archer and the four of us teamed up to try and win the war.
Kawaru: Yeah, back then I had intended to win the grail and give it to the Tosakas but now I know that the grail is far to dangerous. When Saber and I defeat Jack and Berserker we’ll use Saber’s noble phantasm to destroy it.
Aylia: But can a demonic sword destroy the grail?
Kawaru: If it can’t we’ll use Saber’s holy sword.
Aylia: What?
Kawaru: That’s right most people are familiar with the last part of the Dekar myth. Dekar waited for Ryzen to show up for their final showdown however, due to his murder instead of Ryzen showing up his countries army showed up in his stead. Dekar fought the army and was supposedly killed after the battle by his own soldiers who feared his awesome power.
Aylia: So Dekar’s death is similar to Ryzen’s. His own men betrayed their champion because they feared the strength that the champion possessed.
Kawaru: Yeah, but there are two differences, while Ryzen’s death led to the downfall of his army, Dekar’s led to victory, also in the final battle Dekar was referred to as while wing rather than Black Angel and he wielded a holy sword instead of a demonic one.
Aylia: So Saber’s strongest phantasm…
Kawaru:…has yet to be revealed.
Aylia: Hey Kawaru, I’ve been wondering why you know so much about the Dekar legend? I mean it seems like you’ve studied that one in specific in depth.
Kawaru: Well the servant I was trying to summon was Ovan the king of Dekar’s country. So naturally I know a lot about the legends surrounding both of them.
Aylia: I see.
*Kawaru and Aylia finally reach the park and Kawaru walks over to the swing set in the playground he holds his hand up and a magic seal is released, he then begins to dig a hold in the sand, after he was done he held three caster shells with glowing green circuits. He holds them up so that Aylia can see them and smiles*
Kawaru: Found ‘em, now I’m ready.
Aylia: What are those?
Kawaru: They’re caster shells I made, they are specifically designed for if I ever had to fight Jack, once I use all three there will be no going back.
Aylia: So you really do intend to kill Jack, huh?
Kawaru: If it comes to that I will, but I can’t help but get the feeling something is wrong.
Aylia: You mean like something is wrong with Jack? You don’t think Berserker killed him do you?
Kawaru: No, even Berserker couldn’t kill Jack so easily and besides I have to reason to believe that Jack has the same problem controlling Berserker that masters of the past did.
Aylia: Well it is true that he seems very capable.
Kawaru: Right, anyways lets head back.
*Kawaru and Aylia begin to walk back towards the house, but as they look at the sky they see ominous clouds gathering*
Kawaru: The grail must have materialized without being complete.
*The two continue on their way Aylia had at some point grabbed onto Kawaru’s arm*
Kawaru: Aylia, you’re not coming with me to this battle.
Aylia: What?! But our connection only works within a certain range, you know that!
Kawaru: It’s fine I don’t need that, I’ll be better prepared once we get home.
Aylia: What do you mean aren’t you out of constructs?
Kawaru: No, but I’ve got the caster and these special shells.
Aylia: That’s it? What’s so special about those shells anyways?
Kawaru: I’d rather not go into it now, but like I said before, they were specially made to be used against Jack.
*Kawaru and Aylia return to the house and when they enter Sako hands Kawaru a box*
Sako: Here you go.
Kawaru: What is this for?
Sako: Here’s your battle outfit.
Kawaru: You don’t mean…
Sako: Yup I already gave Jack his, and he’ll be wearing it so neither of you can camplain that there are magic runes engraved in the gloves.
Kawaru: WHAT!? How is it a battle between men if we’re using magic supplied by you?
Sako: You both have an equal amount of support don’t worry if you really are against it don’t use the runes.
Kawaru: Fine.
*Kawaru dawns the the black pants and long sleaved shirt and then puts on a white mages coat over it (for those familiar with negima think Nagi) he then puts on the black gloves and takes a deep breath*
Kawaru: Well it’s almost time.
Sako: Good luck.

Saber: Yes master.
