New life springs as the zephyr blows, Giving the yearly sprightly look To all the plants and flowers, And the trees, too, next to the brook.
However, if one looks close, See an unopened blossom, The black sheep that won't grow From some unknown problem.
Perhaps from the harsh winter The sprout did not survive, Or maybe it was the bee, Whose pollinating did not arrive.
Possibly an innate issue of the bud, A mutation in its structure. But why? There is no reason, No reason at all to blame nature.
Do we blame nuturing instead? An injury in its earliest days Caused by some insects, Squirrels, or blue jays?
Could it be something else? Something such as love and care? The lack of it or maybe even an excess, Stifled too much without enough air.
It is all of these such happenings, That this bud does not fully bloom, But perhaps with some help, Its yearly cycle can resume.
